The sparkly hematite amidst the dark blue hues creates for an unbelievably fantastic and starry effect that you have to see up close and in person to believe. At first glance the beads simply appear to be almost a solid black, but twist and turn them in good lighting and suddenly it becomes apparent what makes them a work of art. Having the necklace in choker form and strung closely together I believe also encourages deeper viewing - these beads are meant to be seen. If you are wondering if you should buy this necklace for yourself or someone who would equally love sparkly things, the answer is yes - there are very few pieces of jewelry out there in the world that are nearly and truly this sublime. It’s positively mesmerizing and I keep half-expecting a meteor to fly by every time I run them through my fingers.
